Amtrak's Poor Service

Every week I travel to New York to better service our clients here in the Big Apple. I take Amtrak' Keystone service every time. The train gives me over three hours of unadulterated free time to write proposals, read up on branding or .... sleep. It's the perfect situation for me to gain knowledge while traveling. (That's for your Jason.)

Anyway, these last couple months have proven a bit trying to say the least. First it was a crabby conductor, followed by a breakdown of the train and finally, yesterday, we saw huge delays that resulted in a 3.5 hour trip turning into a 5 hour trip. Excrutiating. What's worse is they kept repeating what sounded like a satirical tagline: "Remember, although we're running, at least we are running." No joke.

What's this have to do with branding?

Work That'll Never Be Seen

We have our fair share of work, don't get me wrong. Despite this fact, we have been known to see a logo or identity that we know we could execute much better. So, we decide to just go at it, write up a brief, explore some ideas and bring it to fruition. Most of the time the company never really sees the work we do. Sometimes we get the opportunity to pitch the idea to the client. In this case it's a rare occasion they go for it. So, it ends up on the spec deck. This edition brings us two logos we've designed that won't ever see the light of day besides this blog.
