Animal Planet Rips Off Vigor's Mark Garrison Logo
I've heard that imitation is the highest form of flattery. If that's true, well then, we're flattered. However, in our industry, imitation is the highest from of derivation—and that translation: RIPOFF!
Recently we were flattered by Discovery Channel's new show "Groomer Has It" logo which bears a striking resemblance to a long-time client of ours, Mark Garrison's logo (which he's had for about five years now). You be the judge.

I'm not saying this was ripped off blatantly. However, I am racking my brain to understand how something so similar is generated independentl - down to the color selection. Maybe it's me? I just know that we at Vigor are careful to fully research our designs before releasing them.
Now, Mark Garrison is no little mom and pop shop in the boonies. No way. He is a celebrity stylist in the heart of posh uptown Manhattan who has been doing his thing for a decade, doing it with Vigor for over five years. Mark is well-known in the styling industry and has keyed some of the most prestigious industry events.
In short, he's not some barber in his garage in the middle of Po-Dunk. He's got ample visibility nationally that, let's say somebody wanted to find him, they could stumble across any number of nodes with a simple Google search for his name. I would like to add that we are explicitly not making any claims of violation here. However, this was too uncanny not to post and thus I leave you, the readers to be the judges of what really happened here. Again, maybe it's just me?
