The often-times dull industry of engineering is as hard to differentiate in as accounting. But it can be done. CenterPoint decided to take the necessary steps to rejuvinate its brand by taking a fresh look at its identity and web experience.
The first thing we noticed is that the company's monaker and logo were misaligned. For a company and industry that lives and dies by precision, reflected in the name "CenterPoint," the existing company logo noticeably and egregiously featured a registration mark inside an "O" that was horribly misaligned and off-center. Vigor designed a new logo that embodied the name of the company while integrating elements of their industry. The brand color palette was chosen to be subdued and conservative, but lively and upbeat.
Once the logo was developed, we harnessed the power of AJAX and LAMP development to create a flash/php hybrid site that delivered content quickly and easily to site visitors while reducing the number of subsequent pages necessary to display information. The new site featured an easy to update news and portfolio section and also contained the basic necessities of a properly search engine optimized web site. Further Vigor helped CenterPoint electronify many of the communications and business tools that were formerly paper-based making them more readily accessible to clients and easier to use.
The new CenterPoint web experience has received acclaim from the company's peers and employees. The XML-driven content allows for quick and inexpensive updates making it easy and affordable to update frequently.
