Abstract //
Over the last two years this architectural giant has been steadily , but rapidly growing which has created challenges for the firm both internally and externally. With growth comes new employees. Training new people and doing it fast is a demanding job that strains management.
Key Challenges //
- Employee training processes had to be streamlined to meet demands on human resources in the growing company.
- The corporate brand, vision and mission still had to be internalized by existing and new employees effectively in this situation that would leave training and internal corporate communications less intense than previous processes.
- Client communications needed to be available when the project managers were not.
Do it with Vigor //
We designed and developed a Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates Architects intranet site. We architected the site's communications and functionality around accessiblity of the company's extensive standard operating procedures, AIA compliance materials and more, readily available for new and existing employees to ramp up to speed in no time.
The intranet site was built to be efficient and powerful, working many robust features all within the same application. A complex, dynamic Flash/ASP hybrid feature that displayed new project photography was the main site feature.
To further streamline internal processes, other features of the CR intranet site included a complex content management system and extensive document management system.
We prominently featured the CR brand and messages, strategically throughout the site. We also chose to use new project photography as the site's visual centerpiece, allowing employees to take pride in the fruits of their labor and develop a sense of loyalty to the vision of CR throughout even task-based training.
The second site was an extranet for one of the top clients.
The site was constructed in three days to meet a deadline. Crabtree, Rohrbaugh walked away looking professional and increasing the trust of their client.
